Added a video of the ZePpeLiN - I did a lunchtime talk on it "at" work.
Have been fixin' to build a spud gun and relive the excitement of seeing tubers launched into the sky through a mildly controlled explosion. In researching the latest in Potato Gun technology, I came across this gem. Elise and I built it one afternoon.
When it's the last day of your "sabbatical," which also falls on Halloween, you need to wrap up with a bang!
Blame this guy, although I tried to take a less dangerous spin on the design:
Got the car ready for the real deal today. Addressed a few issues that cropped up during the initial road tests. Dashboard installed and ignition mounted. Got my driver ready to go and we took the car to a play date a few blocks away. Rolling in style! Check it.
Still so much to do, which is fine since I love it. Wiring needs to be cleaned up, "gas" pedal mounted (that's a big one for the driver!), braking system built and installed, a fair bit of wood work to improve the look - a cross between an indy car and a 911. Interior finishing, etc. And paint - gonna be bada$$.
Footage from one of the first road-test runs of the car project! (I'm holding the "gas" pedal, which is to be installed.) All tolled, a rewarding success. Motor/drivetrain puts out great torque, and it looks like top speed will be pretty quick. Glad there will be a brake! Some tweaks to make based on these dry runs, and a lot of fun ahead to get it fully road ready. Drivers wanted!
Mark you calendars ladies and gentlemen, September 5, 2015 --- Elise learns to ride a bike! Two-wheel pedal. In about an hour! Sure, she had logged a fair bit of time on her balance bike, but we never thought she'd master the pedal bike so quickly. Check her out!
